Sierra Nevada and Houston Airport System Ink Agreement to utilize Ellington Airport's Spaceport as a future landing site for Sierra Nevada Corporation's (SNC) Uncrewed Dream Chaser spacecraft.
HOUSTON SPACEPORT RECEIVED FAA LICENSE
The Houston Airport System (HAS) is granted a Launch Site License from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) , enabling Ellington Airport (EFD) to establish itself as a launch site for Reusable Launch Vehicles (RLV), making it the 10th commercial spaceport in the United States.
HAS, NASA ENTER INTO AGREEMENT TO SUPPORT HOUSTON SPACEPORT
The Houston Airport System (HAS) and NASA enter into an agreement allowing Houston Spaceport to tap into the federal space agency’s assets and expertise, expanding the possibilities for the growing commercial spaceflight industry.
THE HASC OPENS FOR BUSINESS
The Houston Aerospace Support Center opens at Houston Spaceport as shared a shared use manufacturing, engineering and general office facility.
MISSION CONTROL TOWER TO BE COMPLETED
A new air traffic control tower will include dedicated mission control facilities for commercial spaceflight operations.
FULL-LENGTH SPACEPORT TAXIWAY APPROVED
