The winner of the Houston Business Journal’s “Deal of the Year” and hailed for its “potential as an economic driver for years to come," Houston Spaceport offers unmatched business opportunity for aviation and aerospace companies of any size. The Spaceport is located on the southeast side of Ellington Airport (EFD), a mixed-use and general aviation airport with virtually limitless potential for expansion and development. With 592 subdividable acres of greenfield commercial and industrial sites and three runways, EFD is home to a variety of tenants, from private airfield service companies to NASA and the military.
The Spaceport’s primary goal is investing in the future of the aerospace industry and space exploration. That’s why, in addition to serving as a launch and landing site for suborbital, reusable launch vehicles, we recently opened the Houston Aerospace Support Center (HASC) on the spaceport campus as part of our Phase 1 development. The HASC offers 53,000 square feet of laboratory office space including technology incubator space and large-scale hardware production facilities.
The HASC is conveniently located alongside Johnson Space Center and other NASA facilities, and surrounded by a community of over 80 aerospace companies, offering unmatched advantages for our partners and tenants.
In fact, our Umbrella Agreement NASA (made possible by NASA’s Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate) means that the Houston Spaceport and NASA can collaborate, providing access to a number of the unique capabilities at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), including tkey support like safety-specific training, facilities, and technology capabilities, to support a wide range of suborbital operations and commercial spaceflight endeavors.
We’ve also got quite a few major developments to look forward to in 2017 that will provide even more value and benefit to our tenants.
With space available for researching, building and testing a wide range of commercial space applications, the Houston Spaceport offers unparalleled access to the tools, facilities and infrastructure necessary for a variety of commercial space applications.
We hope you’ll choose to locate your business here and become a part of the world’s first truly urban spaceport!
